kevin powell on my show tonight daentourage djs in the building

Author and Activist Kevin Powell is on Da Bidness tonight!

Happy New Year from Brimstone Jones, L3, Dommy Styles and Detroit Red.

Are you embarrassed to visit the African-American book section at Borders. Have you grown tired of the Madea-type" characters dominating television or how every black man is "thugged-out" or oversexed? We'll we have a show for you.

The question we will debate tonight is the urban-centric themes dominating the arts leading a new renaissance of expression or has our music, books and theater become nothing more than a modern day minstrel show?

Author, activist, hip hop journalist and social critic Kevin Powell (Who's Gonna Take The Weight, Someday Will All Be Free) will be on Da Bidness o tonight (Jan 5th 9pm EST) We are discussing Urban America and the Arts.

We will also take an opportunity to discuss Mr. Powell's latest book, The Black Male Handbook: A Blueprint for Life.

In addition to Mr. Powell other special guests include up and coming author Monica Marie Jones(Floss) and Kamal Smith an actor, playwright and radio personality.

We encourage other actors, writers and artists to call in and give an opinion.

To participate in tonight's discussion, visit www. blogtalkradio. com/da-bidness-radio at 9pm EST or 8pm Central. The call-in number is (347) 308-8494. We look forward to hearing from you tonight.
